Start Lines – Dog begins showing focus and direction off the start line. Handler starts observing how odor may be accessed from the beginning. How routines affect the search.
Know Your Numbers – Handler gains awareness of how their dog solves slightly more complex odor problems and begins to track timing and search effort.
Surfaces – Dog is introduced to a wider range of surfaces such as wood, concrete, grass, or pavement.
Inaccessible Hides– Introduces true inaccessible hides with the dog learning to show clear behavior changes and sustained alerts.

Start Lines – Dog takes clear ownership of the search from the start line, with purposeful entry into the search area. Handler reads behavior for early scent clues. Refine start line routine to maximize efficiency.
Know Your Numbers – Handler develops a solid understanding of their dog’s search style, timing, and how long it typically takes to work through different odor puzzles.
Surfaces – Dog works comfortably across diverse and challenging surfaces (e.g., rubber mats, metal grates, gravel) without hesitation.
Inaccessible Hides– Dog reliably works challenging inaccessible hides, showing detailed sourcing behavior even without being able to reach the exact hide.
