Eligibility & Application Process
Who Qualifies:
Must be a U.S. military veteran (active, retired, or honorably discharged). Must own the home needing repairs. Must show proof of financial need. Roof must be repairable rather than needing full replacement.
The Process:
Step 1: Submit an application using the form.
Step 2: Applications are reviewed quarterly.
Step 3: A site inspection determines the scope of repairs.
Step 4: Repairs are scheduled and completed at no cost.

Who is eligible?
To qualify, you must be a U.S. military veteran. This includes active-duty members, retired veterans, or those honorably discharged. You also need to own and live in the home that needs the roof repair. Lastly, you’ll need to show that you’re facing financial hardship, so we can make sure the help goes where it’s needed most.
What types of roof repairs are covered?
We cover important repairs that keep homes safe and dry. This can include:
- Fixing leaks
- Replacing missing or damaged shingles
- Repairing flashing and roof underlayment
- Patching up minor storm damage
We don’t offer full roof replacements through this program, but we do try to help with repairs that make a real difference.
How often are applications reviewed?
We look over all applications every few months (quarterly). Once we get your application, you’ll get a confirmation, and we’ll let you know what to expect. If you apply right after a review period ends, don’t worry — your application will go into the next round automatically.
Can I nominate a veteran?
Yes, definitely! If you know a veteran who could use this kind of help, please share this page with them or reach out to us. While the veteran needs to fill out the application themselves, we’re happy to walk them through the process or answer any questions along the way.
How does the funding work?
The Valor Roof Project is funded by our customers and our team. Every time we sell a new roof, we put aside $250 to help fund repairs for veterans. That means when someone hires us, they’re also helping a veteran in need. It’s a way for all of us to give back together.
